Namaskar
i bow to the divine in you
I would say that my yoga path was nurtured from a young age through my parents. Raised through Buddhist teachings, these form the roots of my current practice that i try to share in my classes today.
My yoga practice started as a form of exercise. It was an instant love affair that blossomed into deeper enquiry and eventually into a way of life. This just seems to happen naturally to all who regularly practice it; something shifts without effort... You learn so much about yourself by connecting to your body. More importantly, practices you cultivate on your mat serves you in so many ways in your life. For example, you develop patience, you learn to face your fears and develop confidence to take on challenges. You discover your weaknesses and learn to embrace them with joy! These are the beautiful lessons that you get to take away with you from every practice. Your practice teaches you how to stay true and present to yourself. Learning to be present is learning to be completely aware of being alive! It is in these ways that the practice has changed my life. It may sound like a cliche but that is the truth.
It is this gratitude and love for the practice that I try to serve in class and look forward to sharing my practice with you.
OM Shanti
